Madison Mountaineering is a boutique mountain guide service based in Seattle, Washington. We specialize in mountaineering expeditions to the “7 Summits” and other renowned international and domestic peaks, as well as unclimbed peaks in extremely remote regions. We provide education and training for climbers who aspire to become self sufficient, aware and respectful of the local culture, stewards of the environment, and for whom safety is the number one priority in all climbing endeavors. In addition to guiding climbers on expeditions Madison Mountaineering provides consultations and ‘full service’ logistics / support for production companies seeking to operate in harsh mountain terrain in areas such as Pakistan, Nepal, Alaska, Antarctica, Greenland, Ecuador, Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Washington State, and many other spectacular locations around the globe.
Joe began climbing in 1994 in the Southeast. After a long hiatus he fell in love with the mountains all over again. He packed up and left the Southeast looking for bigger mountains to climb. Alaska was a perfect fit. Joe became a guide in 2003 and started guiding Denali in 2004. (more…)
Josh began climbing in 1999 and moved to Alaska in 2003. He chose Alaska because of the endless climbing potential it offers and the motivated outdoor community. Josh began teaching/guiding for Alaska Pacific University in 2005 and began at AMS in 2006. After graduating from Alaska Pacific University in 2007 Josh was hired on as adjunct faculty and has been teaching there ever since. (more…)

Born and raised in Southern California, it quickly became clear that Mark Tucker loves not only the beach but the nearby mountains. He has guided over 250 expeditions both at home and abroad. After his summit of Carstensz Pyramid, he joined the Seven Summit Club.
Robert Smith, born in Omagh Northern Ireland, has been guiding professionally for 20 years. Spending much of his time exploring Antarctica and the Himalayas. Now residing in Fort William, Scotland, Rob regularly is out mountain biking and sea kayaking in his free time.
Jayar fell in love with the mountains at first site and started climbing in Alaska when he was 14 but later moved to Washington and now pursues alpinism in the Cascades.
