Hi, I'm Marina and I was born and raised in Kazakhstan, Almaty, near snowy peaks. As a child, I woke up early mornings to spend weekends up in the mountains. My first serious mountaineering experience came when I was 19 with an expedition to Pik Talgar, a northern peak in the Tian Shan mountain range in Kazakhstan nearly 5,000m.
I've been climbing for several years now in the US and my love of mountaineering, climbing, and skiing has become more than just a hobby. For the past few years, I have been consistently working on my guiding skills and enjoying leading and teaching small groups for ski or climbing trips in North Cascades. Recently, I had the amazing experience to co-lead a successful expedition to Denali with a fantastic summit day.
My philosophy is to respect the mountains and be prepared, know where you go, and enjoy the journey, not just the destination!
