Daniel Leonard is a passionate and experienced mountain guide born and raised in the enchanting town of Arusha, Tanzania, and a proud member of the Chaga tribe.

His journey in the mountains began with completing his primary and secondary education in Arusha. After secondary school, Daniel became a Mount Meru Tour Guide and joined the International Languages program. While studying, he started climbing Mount Kilimanjaro as a porter, igniting a passion for these majestic peaks. In 2009, he completed his Kilimanjaro Guide Training, fulfilling the requirements to become a lead guide. Before becoming a lead guide, Daniel gained valuable experience as an assistant guide for five years. Today, Daniel boasts over nine years of experience leading treks on Mount Kilimanjaro. His dedication to safety and leadership extends beyond Kilimanjaro, having actively participated in a six-day mountaineering course in the North Cascades, specifically on Mount Shuksan near Seattle, Washington. Additionally, Daniel is a certified Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and CPR provider,

With over 150 successful summits of Kilimanjaro, he possesses a deep understanding of the mountain and its challenges.
