Rachel Davidson

Guide

Rachel is a mountaineer, ultra runner, and outdoor educator based in Seattle who thrives on sharing the challenges and joys of big mountains. She believes that grit, humility, and a good sense of humor aren’t just nice-to-haves—they’re essential to both safety and success on high peaks.

Originally from Portland, OR, Rachel discovered the thrill of mountaineering with her father on the volcanic peaks of the Pacific Northwest. She furthered her love for climbing on high peaks around the world,  and she now channels that passion into teaching as a volunteer instructor and co-chair of the Washington Alpine Club. Since 2019, she’s been dedicated to helping new climbers safely navigate the rugged terrain of the Cascades, building confidence and skills for the next generation of mountaineers.

For Rachel, the highlight of climbing abroad is the incredible people she’s met along the way. The way mountains bring together diverse cultures and perspectives continues to inspire her both personally and professionally. It’s one of the reasons she loves teaching: guiding others to discover not just new summits, but new friendships and shared experiences.

Whether guiding or teaching, Rachel always puts her team’s needs first, leading with a focus on safety, fun, and the camaraderie that makes every expedition unforgettable. She’s committed to helping her clients achieve their goals, whether that’s summiting a peak, mastering new skills, or simply stepping out of their comfort zone and discovering what they’re capable of.
