Clement Gurrey
Guide
Clement has been an outdoor educator since 2012. Despite growing up in the flattest state in the US, his passion for the outdoors started early. Born to a French family that immigrated to the US, he spent most summers in the southern French Alps exploring his favorite place, Écrins National Park.
Fast forward to college in North Carolina where Clement began his journey as an outdoor instructor teaching students how to backpack, kayak, and climb in the Appalachian Mountains and surrounding regions. His desire to deepen his outdoor knowledge and explore new, more varied terrain led him to the Pacific Northwest in 2016 where he summited his first glaciated peak, Mt. Baker.
Since then, he’s spent his time volunteering, instructing and co-chairing with the Washington Alpine Club to teach students basic climbing and mountaineering skills.
Clement is passionate about teaching mountain skills to his clients and finds joy in guiding individuals through challenges to help them discover their strength and resilience.
