For over a decade, Kris has been a skiing and climbing guide throughout the US and internationally. He has spent his entire life exploring the mountains of the world and has completed dozens of first ascents from the Andes to Alaska, the Himalaya, Karakoram and North Africa.

Climbing has been an integral part of his life since he was a teenager while growing up in Montana. Kris is also an accomplished ski mountaineer and holds an impressive list of first descents in the greater ranges of the world like “The Shield” on Huascaran, Cordillera Blanca (2000), and becoming the first American male to ski from the summit of an 8000-meter peak (ChoOyu 2002). Kris’ favorite place to explore is the Antarctic Peninsula. He first visited the region in 2000 and has since made seven return trips ticking dozens of first descents. He is a member of The North Face’s Global Athlete Team, an ambassador of Scarpa North America, Black Diamond and Clif. Kris holds a BA in photography from Montana State University and has gained extensive international recognition as a professional photographer and videographer.
