Eve joined our 2015 Everest/Lhotse expedition with experience as a physician’s assistant working in a Level 1 Emergency Room, and a focus on trauma and wilderness medicine. Eve was an amazing asset to the Madison Mountaineering Everest/Lhotse expedition until she was tragically killed as a result of the earthquake on April 25th, 2015 in Nepal. In 2012 she completed her medical training at John Stroger Hospital of Chicago, recognized as one of the top emergency programs in the nation, graduating with honors for Master of Medical Sciences & Physician Assistant studies. Eve was in the process of completing a second Master’s degree and postgraduate diploma in mountain medicine at the University of Leicester (UK). Since 2013, she has been involved in expedition medicine training in Scotland as well as participating in wilderness medicine in the Everest Region since 2014. She was an avid indoor and outdoor rock climber for several years and, as a mountaineer, successfully reached the summits of Mt. Washington and Mt. Rainier.
