Rest day for team with day hike to Pumori base camp

Today was a relaxing day at Everest Base Camp with half the group deciding to stretch their legs and go on a four hour roundtrip hike to Pumori Base Camp. Pumori is right behind you if you are looking up at Everest from Base Camp and provides spectacular views. This afternoon Brent and Kent arrived into base camp which completes our 2016 climbing team. Kent will be acclimating over the next few days and is doing very well. Tomorrow we will go on another short day hike and begin to prepare for our second rotation up the mountain. At dinner this evening we had fresh vegetables, mango’s, chicken, and pasta.

It’s cool everything is going well and everyone is having a great time. The pictures help me see some of the great views you all are having. I’m glad Brent has arrived and is ready to go. If you get a chance tell him my wife’s mom went to school with his mom kindergarten through college. We talked about his dad, mom, sister and him today. I told her he was at Everest again. Continued luck for great weather and success. Tom

I should have mentioned my wife’s mom is Martha Jones. She goes by Myke and her Dad is James Jones. My wife Taurin said they would hang out sometimes in Cincinnati. My wifes mom is in hospice right now and it was great to talk about Brent today because it’s my dream to be there someday. It feels like part of me is there with him there and I have climbed with you ( Garrett) on Rainier. Again good luck to all involved,Tom
